Overview: Introduction to constraint based modeling utilizing the latest release of SolidWorks.

Prerequisite: none

Topics:

  • SolidWorks sketch utilities
  • Customize environment / Map key development
  • Creating features: Protrusions, Sweeps, Patterns, Shell and Draft
  • Relations
  • Use Modify and Redefine features
  • Insert Mode/Reorder/Reroute
  • Utilize Redefine
  • Learn to redefine parts (with certainty) that others have modeled
  • Learn to use drawings not only to document but as design tools for controlling snap fit and accuracy


Project: Model/Detail a desk vice. If time permits, modify (make correct) an existing assembly of parts with interference issues
